In truth, the blocks are not composed of natural substances. Instead, they are known as EPS, a mixture of chemicals treated to make an expandable substance that is then treated with heat. That will then add air to the block and enable manufacturers to create the beads that are used as bean bag filling.

The bean bag filling that is made using the process above may not actually be made from scratch. Instead, it can actually be made from recycled plastic. Drinking bottles and food containers can be broken down to form the Styrofoam base before being treated to make the bean bag filling beads. Of course there is always the virgin bead option, but helping the environment by recycling ensures that you do you bit. There is no viable difference to separate the brand new beads from the recycled ones but the thought of sitting on an old drinks bottle may put some people off.

New Bean Bag Fillings

Although some individuals do prefer more traditional bean bag fillings, there is a newer and more modern option. Some furniture bean bag fillings now have high density foam bases that mould to your shape effectively, but do return to their original shape as soon as whoever occupies that space actually moves.
